About The Chantry Flat Summer Music Series
The mountain resorts of the “Great Hiking Era” often featured live music, and those of Big Santa Anita Canyon attracted visitors from throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Partygoers would hike miles from the trailhead in Sierra Madre to fill the dance halls. Echoes of this colorful past can still be found today at Chantry Flat, where local musicians are featured every Sunday afternoon throughout summer at the Adam’s Pack Station - only these days you don’t have to hike for miles. Chantry Flat is just an easy 3-mile drive into the hills above Arcadia along Santa Anita Avenue.
Performances will be of the more intimate, acoustic variety; such as modern folk, singer/songwriter, cowboy, bluegrass etc, with a large rotation of acts so that you might always hear something new. Sometimes the donkeys & goats will even join in and sing along! Come for lunch, entertainment and fresh air. Chantry Flat is the trailhead for some beautiful hikes, including Sturtevant Falls, so come early for a stroll through the woods and enjoy lunch and music afterward. We serve fresh burgers & fries, grilled hot dogs & hot links, panini sandwiches, and veggie burgers. Cold beer, soda pop and snacks are also available.
Join The Ukelele Orchestra of the Western Hemisphere for their first ever appearance at the Adam’s Pack Station. We will play Sunday, August 6th from 4:15p – 5:45p. All musical shows are free.
Directions: From the 210 Freeway in Arcadia, exit Santa Anita Avenue and head north toward the mountains. As parking is very limited at Chantry Flat, carpooling is recommended. Private parking is available for a small fee in the Pack Station lot, or park in one of the three Forest Service lots with a Forest Adventure Pass (available for purchase at the Pack Station.)
